Mikel Arteta has revealed he tried to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk at Arsenal before the great Dane joined Chelsea.
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta praised his players after the Gunners failed to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Arteta's side are believed to have led the way for the striker's signing with several bids for his signature.
After rejecting two bids, the Chelsea team suddenly joined the race to sign the star and took over the Mudryk star within hours.
The 22-year-old star was officially presented as a Chelsea star in Chelsea's 1/0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Despite missing out on the signing of Mudryk, Arsenal easily beat North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 to go 8 points clear at the top of the league.
When asked about Chelsea's capture of Mudryk, Arteta insisted that Arsenal will focus on meaningful signings, telling the press "We have fantastic stars".
"We want to improve our team when the transfer window opens, when I say that we, myself, the coaching staff, the staff, the players, the management, and the ownership, we are all in this together, but we will make the deals that we can make in the meantime. I believe that it is good for the team".
